Kellie Pickler and Keiko Napier hold a Tru Protection cell phone case that Kellie helped design
Kellie Pickler took a big stand in support for cancer research and awareness earlier this year, when she shaved off her famous blond locks in support of her good friend, Summer Holt, who has been battling breast cancer. One of the singer's many additional efforts in helping fight the deadly disease comes in the form of an iPhone case that she helped design. The North Carolina native has partnered with Tr? Protection to sell a limited edition iPhone case, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and its "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" campaign. It was originally slated to only be on sale through the end of this year, but due to fan demand, it will now be available until the end of April. (Buy it here.)
"Everybody has a loved one who has been affected by cancer, and I am happy to do what I can to help raise awareness and funds to fight this disease," Kellie notes. "When Tr? Protection approached me with the opportunity to design a special cell phone case that would benefit a cause I whole-heartedly support, how could I not? Plus, I love that Tr?'s product is American-made, using recycled materials."
Tru Protection
"Tr? Protection is proud to partner with Kellie Pickler and offer this iPhone custom case for sale in order to donate money to the American Cancer Society," says Tru Protection CEO Keiko Napier (pictured above with the country star). "I am in awe of Kellie's bold and courageous act of solidarity and support for her friend Summer, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I lost my father to cancer, and we currently have a member of our staff, Lindsey Adams, battling lymphoma. Unfortunately, I think everyone's lives have been affected by cancer. We are thrilled to partner with Kellie and do our part to create awareness and help put an end to this terrible disease."The 26-year-old singer-songwriter, who has participated in the Opry Goes Pink event for the last two years in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness month, feels strongly about doing all she can to help eliminate the disease.
"[We need to] take advantage of these opportunities, especially as a woman," she states. "Everything's changed for women over the years, and this being one of them. This is such a great advantage we've had in the past ... We keep drawing a light to this because there are certain things you can do to prevent things from getting out of control."
Each case sells for $29.95, with $20 from each sale going to the worthwhile cause. See photos of this special iPhone case, plus other holiday gift ideas, in the photo gallery below.
